DESCRIPTION
This award recognizes individuals who have significantly promoted the use of IR or Raman spectroscopy in the cultural heritage field. The award is given in appreciation of a distinguished body of work accomplished throughout a career. Recipients will have increased our understanding of artists’ and cultural materials, improved upon IR or Raman spectroscopic methodologies or have enhanced teaching and learning of these techniques.
The award is presented at IRUG biennial conferences. Nominations may be made in writing to the Board of Directors at least two months prior to a conference. Nominees should be identified by affiliation with a description of their major achievements or other evidence of commitment to the advancement of IR and Raman techniques in the field. The Board has sole discretion in selecting recipients.
